CORELLIA — Fire-response teams have contained an industrial blaze at a shipyard facility on Corellia after a machinery malfunction caused a localized fuel fire in a service area.

The fire began during routine maintenance work and prompted the immediate evacuation of the affected section. Emergency systems activated as designed, sealing off nearby workspaces and preventing the blaze from reaching active assembly areas, fuel stores, or occupied vessel berths.

Medical personnel treated several workers for smoke inhalation and minor injuries. Officials stated that no one remains in critical condition and that all personnel assigned to the affected facility have been accounted for.

The incident temporarily halted work at several adjoining docks while safety teams inspected power conduits, ventilation systems, and structural supports. Limited operations resumed after those inspections were completed, though the damaged service area will remain closed during repairs.

“The response was swift, disciplined, and effective,” a shipyard representative stated. “The damage is serious but contained, and the facility’s principal work remains secure.”

Authorities have found no indication of sabotage or criminal activity. A technical review is underway to determine the precise cause of the malfunction and whether additional safety measures are required.
