CORUSCANT — Initial aircrews assigned to the Scimitar assault bomber have completed conversion training ahead of the craft’s continuing dispatch to Imperial Navy and Imperial Starfighter Corps units operating in active conflict zones.

The training program covered precision-strike procedures, defensive flight operations, atmospheric handling, ordnance delivery, and coordinated missions alongside escorts and support craft. Crews also completed emergency drills focused on the Scimitar’s enhanced survivability systems.

Naval personnel trained in the carrier-based configuration used by fleet units and forward operating bases. Starfighter Corps crews completed additional familiarization with the Corps’ hyperdrive-equipped service variant, intended for long-range strike, escort, and rapid-response operations beyond ordinary carrier range.

The Scimitar is designed to provide commanders with a more survivable conventional strikecraft for missions against fortified positions, hardened infrastructure, hostile installations, and capital-ship systems.

“The purpose of conversion training is to ensure that the aircraft’s capabilities are matched by the confidence and judgment of the crew operating it,” a Ministry of War spokesperson stated.

Further deliveries to frontline formations are ongoing. Unit designations and deployment locations have not been released.
