WATER SYSTEM REPAIRS UNDERWAY AFTER EARTHQUAKE ON ERIADU

ERIADU — Repair crews are working to restore water service in several Eriadu districts after a moderate earthquake damaged underground distribution lines and caused localized structural disruption.

The earthquake affected a number of residential and industrial areas, prompting temporary closures while engineers inspected roads, buildings, utility tunnels, and transport links. Emergency water points have been established for residents whose ordinary service remains unavailable.

Local security forces have secured restricted repair zones and are assisting residents whose homes or workplaces require structural inspection. Medical personnel reported a small number of minor injuries, primarily caused by falling debris and hurried evacuations.

Engineers have begun isolating damaged sections of the water network to prevent further loss and contamination. Officials stated that service will be restored district by district as repair work is completed and water quality is confirmed.

“The interruption is serious, but the response has been organized and immediate,” a local official said. “Residents should use authorized water points and follow safety directions until normal service returns.”

There is no indication of further significant seismic activity at this time. Authorities will continue monitoring conditions while recovery operations proceed.
