CORUSCANT — His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Draco Tanos, has appointed Moff Lord Varro Straka, Governor of the Farrfin Sector, as Grand Moff of the Trans-Nebular Oversector.

The appointment follows the assassination yesterday of Grand Moff Tervan Byluir during an official inspection of Imperial penal and mining installations on Kessel. Grand Moff Straka will assume responsibility for the civil administration, security, and defense of the Trans-Nebular Oversector from Ord Pardron, including command authority over Iron Lance Command.

Lord Straka brings to the office a long record of public service in law, government, and security. A native of Humbarine, he was educated at the Coruscant College of Law before serving with distinction in the Republic Judicial Forces. During his military career, he commanded anti-piracy and customs-enforcement operations, later rising to the rank of Rear Admiral.

He also served in the Galactic Senate as the representative of the Humbarine Sector, where he became known as a determined advocate for coherent administration, public security, and the effective enforcement of lawful authority. In more recent years, as Moff of the Farrfin Sector, Lord Straka has overseen one of the Empire’s more demanding frontier governments.

The Emperor’s appointment reflects the importance of a steady and experienced hand in the Trans-Nebular Oversector at a moment of heightened security concern. The Oversector encompasses vital trade routes, frontier systems, the Imperial operations on Kessel, and the difficult boundary with Hutt Space.

In accepting the appointment, Grand Moff Straka issued the following statement:

“I am honored by His Majesty’s confidence. Grand Moff Byluir’s murder was an assault upon the peace and security of the Empire. The Trans-Nebular Oversector will remain governed, defended, and secure. Those responsible for this crime will be brought to justice.”

Grand Moff Straka is expected to depart for Ord Pardron without delay. The Imperial Security Bureau and Imperial Inspectorate investigations into the Kessel attack have been joined by veteran investigators from the Ministry of Security’s Office of Criminal Investigations.
