CORUSCANT — Coruscant Guard specialist flame-trooper teams have been deployed to several lower-level utility districts following a renewed outbreak of conduit worms in critical electrical infrastructure.

The worms, which infest and feed within power conduits, can damage cabling and junction systems as they grow, causing localized outages and presenting a significant hazard to maintenance personnel and nearby residents. Municipal utility crews first identified the latest infestations during routine inspections after a series of intermittent power failures in the affected districts.

Working alongside Coruscant emergency services and public-works technicians, Guard flame-trooper teams have begun controlled eradication operations in sealed maintenance corridors. The specialist units are using thermal equipment to clear infested sections safely before engineering crews remove compromised conduit material and restore service.

Authorities emphasized that the operation is being conducted with strict safety controls. Access to several maintenance zones has been restricted while work continues, and residents in nearby lower-level blocks may experience temporary interruptions to electrical service, transit lighting, and local communications networks.

“The protection of Coruscant’s people and essential infrastructure remains the Coruscant Guard’s first duty,” a Guard representative stated. “These teams are trained for hazardous conditions of this kind and will remain in the affected districts until the infestation has been contained and repair work is complete.”

The Coruscant Department of Public Works has asked residents, building managers, and independent maintenance crews to report unexplained power fluctuations, sparking around exposed conduits, unusual heat near utility access panels, or suspected worm activity through established emergency-service channels.

No civilian casualties have been reported. The scope of the infestation remains under assessment, though officials expect the immediate containment and repair work to continue through the coming days.
