LITTLE KESSEL — Initial findings from the Kessel Sector security assessment have identified a pattern of irregular freight activity involving multiple commercial operators serving Little Kessel and neighboring Kessel.

Officials familiar with the review reported that cargo records, transfer authorizations, and insurance filings indicate repeated discrepancies in shipments moving through northern Little Kessel. The irregularities include inconsistent declarations, unverified subcontracting arrangements, and routing changes that appear designed to obscure the origin and destination of certain cargoes.

The assessment, ordered by Grand Moff Lord Varro Straka following the Crown of Little Kessel’s petition for aid, is being conducted by Iron Lance Command, Ministry of Security personnel, Imperial customs authorities, and local security services.

Authorities have not announced criminal charges or formally attributed the activity to a specific organization. However, officials confirmed that the findings are consistent with methods commonly used by criminal networks to conceal illicit commerce and exert influence over legitimate transport concerns.

Several freight consignments have been temporarily held for inspection, and a number of commercial records have been secured for further review. Officials emphasized that lawful civilian and commercial traffic remains open, though carriers operating in the affected routes should expect additional verification requirements.

“The purpose of this assessment is to identify vulnerabilities before they become crises,” an official from the Grand Moff’s office stated. “Legitimate trade will be protected. Those who use commercial activity as cover for criminal influence will not be afforded the same consideration.”

The Royal Court of Little Kessel welcomed the announcement and said it would continue to cooperate fully with Imperial and local investigators.

The review remains ongoing. Further action is expected as investigators examine the relationship between the newly identified irregularities, known Pyke activity in northern Little Kessel, and the wider investigation into the assassination of Grand Moff Tervan Byluir.
