CORUSCANT — The Crown of Little Kessel has formally petitioned His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Draco Tanos, for assistance in safeguarding the world’s commerce, public security, and lawful government amid renewed concern over Pyke Syndicate activity in the Kessel Sector.

The petition, entered into the Senate record this morning, calls for increased Imperial coordination against smuggling, extortion, and interference with civilian freight traffic serving the Little Kessel system. It requests support for local security authorities, additional customs and anti-piracy measures, and an Imperial review of commercial entities operating through the region.

The Pyke Syndicate has long maintained operations in the northern regions of Little Kessel. Royal officials stated that the recent assassination of Grand Moff Tervan Byluir on neighboring Kessel, together with preliminary evidence linking that attack to possible Pyke criminal operations, has heightened fears that the syndicate may seek to exploit the present instability.

Little Kessel is a settled and prosperous world whose trade, agricultural production, and civilian population have long been closely connected to the wider economy of the Kessel Sector. Royal officials warned that uncertainty surrounding the Kessel investigation has already placed strain upon shipping schedules, insurance arrangements, and the confidence of independent carriers.

“The people of Little Kessel have no desire to see criminal influence dictate the conduct of lawful trade or encroach further upon our communities,” the Royal Court stated. “We respectfully seek the Empire’s assistance in preserving the peace, security, and prosperity to which our subjects are entitled.”

The petition has been referred to the offices of the Grand Vizier and the newly appointed Grand Moff of the Trans-Nebular Oversector, Lord Varro Straka. Several senators called for a prompt response, while emphasizing that any measures taken should reinforce local authority and protect legitimate commerce throughout the Kessel Sector.

Imperial officials have not yet announced whether additional assistance will be authorized.
