CORUSCANT — A Coruscant Guard operation to contain a conduit-worm infestation in the planet’s lower levels has led to the discovery of a long-sealed historic complex believed to predate the surrounding city infrastructure by centuries.

Guard flame-trooper teams and municipal utility workers were clearing infested power conduits when they identified an irregularity behind a heavily reinforced maintenance wall. Further structural scans revealed an extensive series of chambers and passageways beneath the lower-level utility network.

The site has been secured by the Coruscant Guard and transferred to the Ministry of Antiquities for assessment, preservation, and controlled excavation. Officials have suspended nonessential work in the surrounding area while structural engineers determine whether the complex can be safely accessed without affecting nearby residential and utility systems.

Preliminary examination suggests that the structure may be connected to what Coruscant historians have long referred to as the Lost Museum: an ancient and largely undocumented complex believed to preserve material from some of the earliest periods of settlement on the city-world.

“The immediate priority remains the safety of residents and the integrity of essential infrastructure,” a Ministry of Antiquities representative stated. “However, the historical significance of this discovery may prove considerable. The Ministry will proceed carefully and in accordance with the highest standards of preservation.”

Preliminary imagery released by the Ministry shows a remarkably preserved interior of carved stone galleries, statuary, ceremonial objects, and bioluminescent flora. No artifacts have yet been removed from the complex, and access remains restricted while the Ministry of Antiquities, Coruscant Guard, and municipal engineering authorities continue their work.

The conduit-worm response has otherwise progressed as planned, with power and communications service being restored gradually to the affected districts.
