Sector Description

Though technically in the Colonies Region, the Tapani Sector is considered a respected part of the Core Worlds, due to its proximity and wealth. It is made up of two distinct areas: The Expanse, located in the heart of the sector; and the Freeworlds Region, situated along its border. There are however, eight different provinces, each composed of mostly ancient houses: Reena Province, Melantha Province, Barnaba Province, Mecetti Province, Calipsa Province, Pelagia Province, Cadriaan Province, and the Freeworlds Territory.

In all, Tapani Sector includes seventy star systems, of which about 15 systems are heavily populated. Most other systems have some form of settlement, primarily mining colonies. The inhabited worlds are controlled by close to 345 noble families, each of which is aligned with a major political House. On most navigational charts, the only ways into or out of the sector was by the Shapani Bypass or the Giju Run.

Some of the better known planets include: Procopia, Mrlsst, Fondor, Caloria, Calipsa, Pelagon, and the Three Ellas (Dorella, Sorella, and Pernella).

Mrlsst is the only planet in the sector with an indigenous alien race. A thick asteroid field surrounds the planet, which is used for raw materials and is the location of several research stations. Mrlsst is the home of the famous Mrlsst Academy, the best university in the sector, and one of the best beyond the Core Worlds.

Sector Capitol

Procopia is the political, economic, and social capitol of the sector, home to the Tapani Exchange and host of the Sector’s greatest holiday: Tapani Day, which takes place during the sectors Capitol Season. It is held annually just after the month of Kelona, and before the month of Selona. The nobility and upper class of the sector travel to Procopia to maintain their social standing and reputation, while spying on their peers and looking for intrigue. Those who do not make the trip during Capital Season are often snubbed or blacklisted, which affects social standing as well as political and economic position.

The planet itself is covered in several chains of islands scattered throughout warm seas, making it quite beautiful to behold. The only true landmass, the continent of Davla, is located at the southern pole and is covered with seething volcanoes.
