
The Ministry of the Interior is a department of the Imperial Government responsible for the issue of official documents (specifically identity documents, travel permits and ship licenses), the management of immigration and emigration, customs duties and the administration of the Imperial prisons system. It is led by the Minister of the Interior and its headquarters is in Imperial City.
Other duties undertaken by this department include maintenance of official records and the collation and publication of official statistics.
Sub-Agencies
The Ministry of the Interior operates a number of sub-agencies dedicated to various specific tasks. These include:-
Bureau of Customs, Travel and Migration - Responsible for managing immigration and emigration of beings to and from Imperial territory, overseeing and inspecting the importation and exportation of goods, ships, vehicles, materials, substances, resources, weapons, armour, life forms and other items to and from Imperial territory. The Bureau of Customs, Travel and Migration also reviews applications for travel permits from Imperial Citizens and visitors.
Imperial Records Office - Responsible for creating, maintaining, keeping and updating various official records, files, archives and databases. The Imperial Records Office also publishes official statistics and processes applications for identity cards.
Department of Prisons and Detention - Responsible for the operation of the Imperial penal system.
Bureau of Ships and Services - Responsible for the issuing of ship transponder codes, pilot licenses and keeping records on all private ships approved to operate within Imperial space.
