Imperial Treasury

His Imperial Majesty’s Treasury, generally shortened to the Imperial Treasury, is the Imperial Government department responsible for collecting revenues and developing and implementing public finance policy and economic policy. The Imperial Treasury also oversees the Empire’s central bank, the Imperial Bank. It is led by the Minister of the Treasury and its headquarters is in Imperial City.

The Treasury also runs the Empire’s nationalised industries and businesses and liases with other corporations which have close links to the Galactic Empire.

Sub-Agencies
The Imperial Treasury operates a number of sub-agencies dedicated to various specific tasks. These include:-

The Imperial Bank – The Empire’s central bank, this department is responsible for the setting of interest rates and the issuing of currency. It is based in a separate building on Imperial Centre in the Financial District.

Taxation Bureau – Responsible for setting tax rates and collecting taxation revenues.

Business Bureau – Responsible for monitoring and advising businesses and corporations operating within the Galactic Empire. This bureau also maintains the Registry of Complaints, in which Imperial Citizens can lodge complaints about the services provided by a company and request an investigation.

Auditing Department – Responsible for investigating and auditing businesses and corporations operating within the Empire and ensuring they do not act recklessly or unlawfully.

Contracts Division – Responsible for issuing and revoking contracts with private companies on behalf of the Galactic Empire.

Corporate Administration – Responsible for running the Empire’s nationalised companies and organisations (e.g. the Palpatine Mine Network, the Galactic Banking Network and Imperial Energy Systems).
