Sector Description

The Farfin Sector is physically one of the largest sectors in the Galaxy, including much of the North Western Quadrant of the Galaxy. It borders onto the Unknown Regions. To the east it meets with the Imperial Oversector and to the south the Tapani Sector.

As well as the capitol system, the Farfin Sector also includes systems such as Alsakan, a former Kuati colony, Troiken, the economic heartland of the sector and Khomm, a clone world. Also with the Sector boundaries are Russan, most famous for being headquarters of the Black Sun, and the semi-autonomous system of Cambria, ruled over by the Cambrian Collective. While there are over ninety mapped star systems within the Farfin Sector, only Twenty-One are actually settled.

From four years before the Battle of Yavin till the death of Emperor Palpatine at that battle, the Farfin sector was part of the Oversector ruled by Grand Moff Karl von Roma. Following the Grand Moff’s accession to the Imperial Throne, Moff Jacen Boshuu, took on the post of Sector Governor, until promoted to Grand Moff of the Imperial Oversector. Following this, Moff Raider Aspect of the Deep Core sector was reassigned to Farfin.

Sector Capitol

The Farfin Sector is ruled from the system and planet that give their name to the Sector. The system is in fact very lightly populated, with only 15 million sentients as of the last census, mostly living on the main world, although small populations exist on another planet and three moons.

Farfin itself has a native species, the Farghul. However, after humans discovered the planet they have been displaced by human settlers. The nomadic Farghul were gradually pushed off their lands onto reserves. Farfin itself became the equal of any core world and a minor power in intergalactic commerce and business.

For the past seven hundred years Farfin has been a constitutional monarchy under House Boshuu, one of the earliest and most successful settler familles. Though initially merely a figurehead, the Kings of Farfin gradually gained power through a series of referendums. King Hargald IV was a noted supporter of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and was appointed Governor of Farfin when the New Order was formed.
