Army Mission Statement

The Imperial Army is the branch of the Imperial Military whose primary responsibility is the performance of ground-side military operations. Imperial Army troops are the most common and visible symbol of the Empire on most planets. As such it is the Imperial Army's mission to eliminate military threats to the established Imperial political order on the surface of the planet (or any and all inhabited complexes elsewhere positioned). If the planet is not under Imperial control, the Imperial Army, working in conjunction with the Imperial Navy and Starfighter Corps, is to engage and defeat any local military force capable of resistance -- in order to facilitate the transition of the planet to the Galactic Empire under the mandate of the Emperor.

When engaged in operations, the Imperial Army expects support from the Imperial Navy and Starfighter Corps both during and after the initial-drop phase. During this phase the Imperial Navy will provide suppressing fire against particularly hardened or well-armed targets in order to soften them up for the Army forces. This also serves to incapacitate enemy targets that would otherwise be capable of interfering with the Army's reorganization after the initial-drop. The Army can also expect support via orbital bombardment during the later stages of the operation, as well.

When on garrison duty, the mission of the Imperial Army is essentially unchanged, except that they are expected to provide firepower and backup to COMPNOR and Imperial Intelligence operatives when such actions have been cleared with the garrison Commander -- and through him with the presiding military and/or political authority of the Sector.

When aboard a vessel of the Imperial Navy, the primary duty of Army personnel is primarily the continuation of tactical and combat training, as well as the maintenance of all Army equipment and vehicles. The Army is also responsible for the defense of the vessel should enemy units attempt a boarding action.

Above all, the mission of the Imperial Army is to set a shining example of the ideals of the New Order, wherever Army troops are stationed. Further; to act as agents of the Emperor's extended will, following their orders to death if need be, for His Majesty's glory and the New Order's perpetuation.

This is the mission of the Imperial Army.
