Imperial Guard

The Imperial Guard is the elite personal bodyguard corps of Emperor Draco Tanos, entrusted with the direct protection of the Throne and the Emperor himself. Selected through rigorous, merit-based trials, the Guard represents the highest standards of loyalty, skill, and discipline in the Galactic Empire. They are the Emperor's unyielding shield, standing as silent sentinels at his side and the final line of defense for the New Order.

Members of the Imperial Guard are drawn from the finest warriors across the Empire's most prestigious forces, including the Senate Guard, the Coruscant Guard elite clone shocktroopers and their breathren of the Stormtrooper Corps, and the Imperial Army. Selection is intensely competitive. Candidates undergo trials of physical endurance, tactical acumen, marksmanship, close-quarters combat, and absolute loyalty to Emperor Tanos and the New Order. Only those who prove themselves worthy in every measure are elevated to the Guard. Once chosen, they serve for a period of no less than fifteen years in the Emperor's service.

The Imperial Guard wears distinctive red variants of the classic Senate Guard armor, a deliberate homage to the Republic's most revered security tradition. The armor is repainted in deep crimson, high collars, and flowing red cloaks for ceremonial duties (shorter versions for combat). The helmet retains the tall crest and visor slits of the Senate Guard design, now in red with a polished black visor. Their weapons include ceremonial force pikes, heavy blaster rifles, vibroblades, and compact shields, combining elegance with lethality. The red armor makes them instantly recognizable as the Emperor's personal elite, standing apart from standard stormtroopers and shocktroopers.

The Guard's primary duty is the protection of Emperor Tanos at all times. They are stationed at key points in the Imperial Palace, accompany the Emperor during public appearances, and form an invisible ring of security during travel or ceremonies. Beyond protection, the Guard may undertake special missions at the Emperor's command, including escorting high profile dignitaries, securing sensitive Imperial sites, or executing discreet operations requiring their unique skill set. They answer only to the Emperor and operate outside normal military or civilian chains of command.

The Imperial Guard embodies the New Order's core ideals: merit above birth, loyalty above all, and efficiency in service. Every Guardsman has earned their place through deeds, not privilege. Their red armor is a symbol of honor, continuity, and the Empire's commitment to protecting its sovereign and its people.

The Sovereign Protectors

The Sovereign Protectors are the most elite subset of the Imperial Guard, a small, hand-picked detachment of four individuals selected from the ranks of the Imperial Order's knights. These four represent the pinnacle of guardianship within the Imperial Order. Chosen through the most demanding merit-based trials and subject to the Emperor's personal approval, the Sovereign Protectors are the Emperor's innermost circle of protection.

The Sovereign Protectors wield double-bladed lightsabers with rare silver kyber crystals, a color symbolizing purity, clarity, and selfless devotion to the New Order. The silver blades shimmer with a metallic, mirror-like sheen and a faint icy undertone, distinguishing them from the yellow blades of the regular Temple Guard. Their double-bladed design allows for more elaborate defensive techniques and grants them an imposing presence, making them ideally suited for close-protection duties around the Emperor.

Clad in a variant of the Temple Guard uniform combined with more elaborate Imperial Guard pieces (with unique markings or insignia denoting their elevated status), the Sovereign Protectors stand as silent, resolute sentinels at the Emperor's side. Their role extends beyond conventional protection: they may undertake missions of the highest sensitivity at the Emperor's direct command, including the safeguarding of sacred Imperial sites, the protection of kyber vaults, or the elimination of existential threats to the Throne. The Sovereign Protectors embody the highest ideals of the Imperial Order and the New Order: absolute loyalty, unyielding vigilance, and service without compromise.
