Under the enlightened rule of Emperor Draco Tanos, the Ministry of Antiquities safeguards the galaxy’s rich historical legacy. Tasked with locating, recovering, cataloging, and preserving ancient artifacts, holocrons, relics, and sites of cultural or scientific significance, the Ministry ensures that the lessons of the past serve the strength and unity of the New Order.
Founded in the early years of the Empire, the Ministry operates as one of the key civilian bureaus under the Imperial Ruling Council. It works closely with Territorial Administration and other ministries to protect valuable discoveries from looters, rebels, or misuse, while advancing Imperial knowledge through careful study and controlled dissemination.
The Minister of Antiquities reports directly to the Ruling Council and is appointed by the Emperor for proven loyalty, scholarly excellence, and dedication to the New Order. Current priorities include the systematic cataloging of pre-Clone Wars artifacts, the secure archiving of Jedi and Sith relics, and the excavation of historically significant sites across the 20 Priority Oversectors.
All recovered items are evaluated for their potential to strengthen Imperial understanding of history, technology, or the Force itself. Dangerous or destabilizing artifacts are secured or destroyed under strict Imperial protocol, ensuring the past never threatens the future of the Empire.
