An Oversector (also known as a Priority Sector) is a large administrative division consisting of multiple sectors grouped together for enhanced governance and security. These were transitioned from the Galactic Republic's priority sectors under the Sector Governance Decree and are governed by a Grand Moff with expanded authority. There are twenty Oversectors, each designed to address strategic needs or potential threats.
Oversectors enable more effective coordination of resources and military support, particularly in areas requiring heightened oversight. Grand Moffs oversee Oversectors and have direct control over included sectors, including authority over sector moffs. Oversectors are supported by dedicated military units for enforcement and stability.

Though Coruscant is the heart of the Empire, ancient Anaxes serves as her bulwark and the seat of the oversector's governor.
