The Senate Guard

The Senate Guard is the elite ceremonial and security force responsible for the protection of the Imperial Senate, its members, and the Senate Rotunda on Coruscant. Inherited from the Republic era, the Guard continues under the New Order as a symbol of order, tradition, and the Senate's role as an advisory body to the Throne. The Guard ensures the physical safety of senators during sessions, public events, and travel, while maintaining the dignity and decorum of Senate proceedings.

Under Emperor Draco Tanos, the Senate Guard was reformed to reflect the principles of the New Order: merit-based selection, absolute loyalty to the Empire, and professional efficiency. Members are chosen from the finest candidates within the Imperial military and security forces, undergoing rigorous training in close protection, crowd control, ceremonial protocol, and non-lethal restraint. The Guard answers to the Grand Vizier as Speaker of the Senate and operates in coordination with the Imperial Guard for matters involving the Emperor.

The Senate Guard performs both ceremonial and practical duties. During Senate sessions, they stand watch at key entrances, escort senators to and from the chamber, and maintain order in the Rotunda. They also provide security for Senate delegations visiting other worlds, protect visiting dignitaries within the Senate district, and assist in emergency evacuations or threat response. In ceremonial capacity, the Guard lines the Senate Rotunda during Investiture week, major addresses, or Imperial proclamations read to the Senate. Their armor is a distinctive blue design and their weapons include ceremonial force pikes, compact blasters, and stun batons, tools chosen for precision and restraint.

Senate Commandos

The Senate Commandos are the combat-oriented elite of the Senate Guard, trained for high-risk protection missions, rapid response, and tactical operations. Selected for exceptional marksmanship, close-quarters combat, and situational awareness, the Commandos serve as the Guard's strike force when threats escalate beyond standard security. They accompany Senate delegations to hostile or contested worlds, secure landing zones, and provide armed escort during crises or high-profile events.

Under the New Order, Senate Commandos are drawn from the most capable members of the Imperial military, including former clone shocktroopers and elite stormtroopers. Their armor is a reinforced variant of the standard Senate Guard design, with additional plating, integrated comms, and tactical gear. They carry heavy blaster rifles, thermal detonators, and vibroblades, prioritizing speed, precision, and overwhelming force when necessary. The Commandos embody the Empire's commitment to protecting its legislative traditions with decisive action when words alone are insufficient.

Senate Security

Senate Security is the day-to-day protective and investigative branch of the Senate Guard, responsible for routine security, threat assessment, and intelligence gathering within the Senate district. They conduct background checks on visitors, monitor Senate facilities, investigate potential threats to senators, and coordinate with Coruscant Security Forces and Imperial Intelligence. Senate Security maintains the Senate's safety on a constant basis, allowing the Commandos to focus on high-threat operations.

Members are selected for observational skills, discretion, and knowledge of Coruscant protocols. Their armor is lighter and more discreet than the Commandos', with blue tunics, utility belts, and concealed blasters. Senate Security operates under the Grand Vizier's oversight and reports directly to the Captain of the Senate Guard, ensuring the Senate remains a secure and functional institution within the Empire.
