Ministry of Security

Coruscant Security and Coruscant Guard on duty The Ministry of Security is responsible for the internal protection of the Galactic Empire, focusing on law enforcement, criminal investigations, and the suppression of threats to public order and Imperial stability. It coordinates planetary and sector-level security efforts while maintaining a galaxy-wide network of investigative and enforcement agencies.

Reorganized under the New Order, the Ministry replaced the fragmented and often ineffective security apparatus of the late Republic. Its mandate is to detect, investigate, and neutralize criminal activity, corruption, and subversive elements before they can threaten Imperial authority, working closely with the Imperial Security Bureau.

Imperial Office of Criminal Investigations (IOCI)

The Imperial Office of Criminal Investigations serves as the Ministry’s primary investigative and enforcement arm. It handles major criminal cases that cross planetary or sector boundaries, conducts high-level inquiries into organized crime, corruption, and political offenses, and provides specialized support to local law enforcement agencies. The OCI operates with broad authority to pursue suspects across Imperial space and works closely with Imperial Intelligence and the Ministry of Justice on matters requiring prosecution.

Sector Rangers

The Sector Rangers are an elite subdivision of the Imperial Office of Criminal Investigations. Operating as highly trained law enforcement agents, they patrol assigned sectors, investigate serious crimes, enforce Imperial law in frontier and Outer Rim regions, and provide rapid response to major incidents. Sector Rangers often serve as the first line of Imperial justice in remote or lawless areas, combining investigative skill with the authority to make arrests and conduct field operations.

The Ministry of Security works in close coordination with COMPNOR and other Imperial agencies to maintain order and security throughout the galaxy. Through disciplined enforcement and proactive investigation, it helps ensure the stability and safety of the New Order.

The Minister of Security reports directly to the Ruling Council and holds authority over security policy, criminal investigations, and the operations of the Imperial Office of Criminal Investigations and its subordinate agencies.
